do-it is Site of the Week

27 May 2004

The recently launched site for do-it, part of Youth Net has been nominated Site of the Week by New Media Age magazine.

New Media Age - Site of the Week awardIn the review of the do-it site the judges commented, "this new site is clean and simply designed, presenting volunteering in a new light. It presents a worthwhile activity to potential recruits in an accessible way."

The judges go on to comment that, "anyone with a bit of spare time on their hands should head to this new site."

The public would seem to echo this sentiment as do-it reports that registered users and page impressions are far in excess of expectations already.

Tom Green, do-it editor comments,

"Interactive Bureau worked with us right through the process of re-designing our website, helping us to structure our site and determine the functionality that our users would require. I was particularly impressed with their thoroughness and attention to detail, as well as their technical knowledge. Their designs were fresh and contemporary but also highly usable, reflecting all that we had asked for in the brief. The proof of the success of the new design has come in increased page impressions per user and the smooth introduction of a user registration process."

www.do-it.org.uk (do-it) hosts the National Volunteering Database - where tens of thousands of volunteering opportunities are input by agencies around the country. The new site is aimed at people who are thinking about volunteering. It also provides information, news and feature articles about volunteering. Do-it approached Interactive Bureau a year ago because it was interested in the WASP (Web Audit Service Programme) - a systematic and logical process to review the existing site and its evolving needs before properly planning the way forward and redesigning the Web site.
