do-it and FARM-Africa sites win awards
20 Oct 2004 Two Web sites, designed and built by Interactive Bureau have won awards in a global design contest held in New York. The do-it Web site, part of the YouthNet network, has taken the Silver award in the Nonprofit Design competition in New York. FARM-Africa’s site was awarded an honourable mention. The competition, organised by Idealist.org and its parent organization, Action Without Borders, sought to "promote excellence in design in the nonprofit sector and to reward and acknowledge those designers who take limitations and move beyond them to create work that is functional, aesthetically powerful and promotes the social good". The Web sites will be featured in an online gallery and in a New York City exhibition Idealist.org connects over 40,000 nonprofits and community organizations in 165 countries. It promotes thousands of volunteer opportunities and offers a highly popular nonprofit career centre on its site, listing hundreds of jobs and internships. |
